TULSA–The Tulsa women’s soccer team will open their season on Thursday as they host #20 Oklahoma State beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
Tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688.
Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on TulsaHurricane.com/watch. There is a 24 hour pass, a monthly pass and yearly pass that allow you to watch all TU home men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and softball games depending on the package purchased.
The Golden Hurricane has 13 returners, including 11 letterwinners from last season, and welcomes 12 newcomers to the roster. Head coach Kyle Cussen, who is in his 11th season at the helm, is the winningest women’s soccer head coach in school history with 91 victories. Under his direction, TU has tallied a 39-10-4 mark in home non-conference games for a 77-percent winning percentage.
Tulsa battled Little Rock to a 1-1 tie in their only preseason contest. Mia Darden scored the Hurricane goal, while Alyssa Kaiser had a team-best three shots and Mica MacKay picked up three saves.
Oklahoma State returns 15 letterwinners, including 10 starters from last season when the Cowgirls posted a 16-4-3 overall record, won the Big 12 regular season title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
OSU owns a 5-2 lead in the all-time series with TU, including a 2-1 win in Stillwater during the 2014 season, which was the last meeting.
