STILLWATER– The Big 12 Conference announced its 2018 Preseason All-Big 12 Football Team Wednesday, with Oklahoma State’s Justice Hill, Marcus Keyes and Jordan Brailford voted to the team at running back, offensive line and defensive line, respectively.
The three selections for the Cowboys mark the third-most of any team in the conference, while Hill and Keyes are two of just 11 juniors on the team, chosen by media representatives who cover the league.
Hill, who was a first team selection to the 2017 All-Big 12 team by the coaches and the Associated Press, enters his junior season ranked seventh among active players and first among juniors who play in Power Five conferences with 2,609 career rushing yards. His 14 career 100-yard rushing games ties for third among all active FBS players returning in 2018 and is second among running backs from the Power Five conferences. Hill was one of 11 national semifinalists for the 2017 Doak Walker Award and led the Big 12 by a wide margin last season with 1,467 rushing yards.
Keyes was also a first team selection to the 2017 A.P. All-Big 12 team and one of the leading men in Hill’s ground attack. He was one of only two Cowboys to start every game on the offensive line last season and his streak of 26 consecutive starts is the longest active streak on the team going into the 2018 season. Keyes played a significant part in the Cowboys rushing for 34 touchdowns and helped pave the way for an offense that led the nation in passing.
Brailford was a second team all-conference honoree by the coaches and A.P. last season after playing an important role on the Cowboy defensive line. He led OSU’s linemen with 57 tackles and 34 solo stops last season while playing in every game and starting the last nine. His 10.5 tackles for loss netted 62 yards on the season and included a career-high 4.5 sacks.
The Cowboys open the 2018 season Aug. 30, when they host Missouri State at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater with kickoff set for 7 p.m. on FS1.
