Drillers defeat Springfield again

TULSA–The Tulsa Drillers entered Sunday afternoon’s game against the Springfield Cardinals needing a win to avoid elimination in the Texas League North Division pennant race.

In a back-and-fourth contest that was tied going into the bottom of the ninth, the Drillers loaded the bases and sent pitcher Logan Bawcom to the plate to pinch-hit. Drillers take key game from NWA

TULSA–The Tulsa Drillers remained in the thick of the Texas League’s pennant race Friday night, and they can thank pitcher Devin Smeltzer for it. The lefthander was outstanding in a critical matchup with Northwest Arkansas at ONEOK Field, blanking blanked the Naturals through the first seven innings and helping Tulsa to a 3-1 victory. Four homers lift Drillers over Cardinals

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.–With eight games to play and still in the running for the Texas League first-half title, the Tulsa Drillers needed a win against the Springfield Cardinals to keep pace in the standings. The Drillers did just that after four homers, a good start by Logan Bawcom and three shutout innings from the bullpen resulted in a 6-3 win in Springfield. SPRINGFIELD, Mo.–The Tulsa Drillers started off the series against the Springfield Cardinals with a good offensive outing on Saturday night. Tulsa starter Andrew Sopko went six strong innings in his first start of the season, only giving up one run on five hits while striking out five to lead the Drillers to victory.
