WEATHERFORD—Head coach Shane Brookshire has announced the signing of 11 individuals for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University cross country/track & field program for the 2018-19 school year.
Included among the additions are 10 incoming freshman – seven from Oklahoma high schools – along with one transfer.
“We’re excited to welcome all of our new additions to the SWOSU Cross Country/Track & Field programs,” Brookshire said. “We improved upon every event area from Throws and Jumps to Distance and Sprints by bringing in talented individuals. These athletes hold themselves to high athletic and academic standards that will reflect well on SWOSU as we continue to grow as a program.”
The event with the most newcomers will be sprints, where SWOSU added six freshmen, while Brookshire also added two pole vaulters, one high jumper, one mid-distance runner and one for cross country and distance running. A complete list of the recruiting class is below.
SWOSU opens the 2018 Cross Country season Sept. 8, with the Third Annual SWOSU Open at Radar Park, an event the Dawgs have won in each of the past two seasons.
