Sooners’ Riley gets big boost in contract

NORMAN—The University of Oklahoma board of regents approved a new contract for football coach Lincoln Riley on Tuesday.

After taking the Sooners to the NCAA playoffs in his first season, Riley will be paid $4.8 million this season and $25 million over five seasons.

Riley was paid $3.1 million last year. He coached the Sooners to a Big 12 championship and a third-place ranking in the final poll.
