EUGENE, Ore.—The Oklahoma track and field team continued its weekend at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships on a rainy Friday at Hayward Field. Two Sooners collected All-America honors on day three of competition.
“I was pleased with the way both our freshman competed today. I think Vernon (Turner) wanted to have a little bit better of a day, but I think his competitive effort was very good. I was also very pleased with Papay Glaywulu, he looked like a guy that knew how to compete at the national championships and relative to the jumps he has had this year, that was probably his best jumps he’s had considering the conditions,” said OU head coach Jim VanHootegem.
