IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 announced its Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Year award winners Thursday, and Oklahoma State’s Vanessa Shippy was honored as the softball recipient for the second-consecutive year. Shippy is the first Big 12 softball player to receive the distinction more than once since the award was established during the 2012-13 academic year. Travelers hold off Drillers

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.–Despite some late inning offense, the Tulsa Drillers fell to the Arkansas Travelers 8-6 on Friday night. Tulsa starting pitcher Justin DeFratus faced his former team in the Travs and had only allowed four earned runs in his previous four starts for the Drillers, but the Travs bats got the best of him.
