OSU golfers named Golfweek all-Americans

STILLWATER-Oklahoma State’s men’s golf team was well represented on the list of Golfweek All-Americans with four Cowboys receiving the distinction it was announced this week.

Sophomore Viktor Hovland and freshman Matthew Wolff, who were both named first-team PING All-Americans previously, were named to the publication’s first team.

Junior Zach Bauchou was tabbed as a second-team pick, while senior Kristoffer Venturareceived honorable mention status.

Additionally, Cowboy head coach Alan Bratton was named the Golfweek Men’s Coach of the Year after leading OSU to a 10-win campaign highlighted by its 11th NCAA title. The honor is the second such award for Bratton this year after being named the Dave Williams National Coach of the Year earlier this month.

Hovland enjoyed a run of six consecutive top-five finishes this past season. During that stretch, he posted two runner-ups, a pair of thirds and his first collegiate victory with his win at the Valspar Collegiate.

Wolff, the Phil Mickelson Award winner as the nation’s outstanding freshman, enjoyed a rookie campaign that featured six top fives, four of which were runner-up finishes.

Bauchou tallied six top 10s during his junior campaign with his best showing being a runner-up at the NCAA Columbus Regional.

Ventura opened the year with a fourth-place finish at The Carmel Cup and shared medalist honors this past spring at the Big 12 Championship.
