OPSU volleyball to host Challenge Tournament

GOODWELL–As the 2018-2019 athletic term draws near, Panhandle State University volleyball is gearing up to kick off their season with the annual Aggie Challenge Tournament in Anchor D. Arena at the newly revamped Oscar Williams Field House.

Panhandle State will serve as host to five additional teams, including the University of St. Thomas Celts, University of Science and Arts Oklahoma Drovers, Ft. Hays State Tigers, Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rangers and University of the Southwest Mustangs, to play in a round-robin style tournament over two days August 24-25.

On Friday, Panhandle State Aggies will take the court early to face Ft. Hays at 11 a.m. followed by a match against USW at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Aggies will take on St. Thomas at 1 p.m. and NWOSU at 5 p.m.

Head coach Angela Franke is eager for the event stating, “I am excited that our season opener is also our home opener. We are looking forward to start the season with a bang and showcase all of the hard work we have been putting in to become a stronger and more competitive program and team.”

Tickets for the event can be purchased at the door the day of the tournament or via Ticket Roarthrough the opsuaggies.com website for $5 per day or $8 for both Friday and Saturday.

Access to each day’s full set of games is included in the ticket price. OPSU students and staff will gain free entrance with school ID. Fans can also purchase items from the concession stand, located in the lobby of the Oscar Williams Field House, before and during each day’s games. Food and beverage choices will be available and can be purchased with cash or credit card.
