Murray named to WGCA All-American scholar team
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Rogers State women’s golfer Sydney Murray was named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team as announced by the WGCA on Tuesday.

Murray is one of 1,011 women’s collegiate golfers across all divisions recognized with the prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative grade point average is 3.50.

Murray, a sophomore from Wichita, Kansas, played in 10 events for the Hillcat women’s golf team this season. She shot a career best score of 1-over-par 73 in her second round of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate on Oct. 17, 2017. The sophomore placed a season-best 17th at the Midwestern State Invitational from March 12-13, 2018.

For the 2017-18 season, Murray averaged a score of 80.55 in 22 rounds. In her freshman campaign, the Kansan appeared in 10 tournaments and finished in the top 10 at the Heartland Conference Championship from April 23-25, 2017.
