DUNCAN, British Columbia—On Thursday, Zach Bauchou became the 13th back-to-back winner in the 114-year history of the Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship.

With his three-stroke victory at Duncan Meadows Golf Course, the rising senior became the first player to accomplish the feat since Mackenzie Hughes in 2011-12.

“It is truly an honor to be a back-to-back champ at the Canadian Am. Words can’t really express what it means to me to come up here and play as well as I did and defend. I am truly honored to win this tournament again,” Bauchou said.

Bauchou finished at 18-under 266 to come in three shots clear of Philip Knowles. Former Cowboy Sam Stevens, who was a senior for last year’s NCAA title-winning team, finished fifth at 274.

After opening with a 65, Bauchou carded a 68 during his second round before posting a third-round 67. He closed with a 5-under 66 to secure the victory. The Forest, Va., native went out with a bogey-free 32 that included birdies at Nos. 2, 5, 6 and 8. After carding his lone bogey of the day at the 14th, he posted birdies at Nos. 15 and 17 to secure the victory.
